Maybe the general opening will shake loose some posts. I posted on crappies on Yellow Stone in s/w WI. and no replies. However there are an awful lot of river fishers here also. Let’s see how this shakes out next weekend.

I would post your reports on the species specific forum page and i’m sure they will get hit. maybe that would be a better option. Dan

Have you tried the brat, beer, cheese or Packer sections? Let me suggest the beer thread, as those guys always have the truth serum flowing through the veins. The problem is you have a hard time separating truth from fiction.

I have watched the fishing boards for Wisconsin and cant believe no on fishes. This web site gets no response on Wisconsin waters. Probably done thinking it is a helpful tool. Posted several times waste of space. Lots of adds much like the poor quality fishing shows good bye good luck

Sorry you didn’t get the info you thought you deserved. You registered in Feb. of 2005 and only show 100+ posts. So to say you posted alot would be a stretch.

Seems many people here fishing a specific lake need to cultivate their own group of people who fish those waters. It all takes time to get people working together. If you look back 2 years to the Rainy Lake forum it was very slow. Rainy Daze started posting reports several times a week. Soon his clients starting posting there. Then guy’s who wanted information started posting there. Then his competition started posting there anyway you get the idea. It takes time and it takes somebody who wants to work it to make it go.

Just because you didn’t get the info you wanted doesn’t make this a worthless site as you alluded to. More people are learning more things here then any fishing site you visit, that I would be willing to bet as I’m on most of them also.

So, as they say in the sports world…………..”take your ball and go home” cuz I won’t miss ya.

    Yes they are helpful.
People need to remember, we get out of fishing boards what members and staff put into them.
If you want to take the time and effort to post information about the waters that you fish, you will in return get information when you ask for it.
I have received many great PM’s after asking about certain areas whether it be in Mn or Wi.

Spend some time sharing your thoughts and insights, you will get plenty in return.

As usual, Ron hit the nail right on the head.

Think about being a member of IDO as being part of a relationship. As in any relationship, you get out exactly what you put in. The Rainy Lake forum was awfully quiet until Chris showed up and started putting something in. Now look at the traffic and interest in Rainy. On the Wisconsin side, look back at the Wissota forum from 3-4 years ago, and compare that to its present state. Much of the change was due to the efforts of a couple of IDO staffers (myself and Jason Sullivan), but that has been supplemented heavily by members (2Ks, whitetip, Aaron Berg, Jason Bergeron, and many others) who now felt like they had a place to belong. Once the league gets rolling in a couple weeks, that forum will once again be hopping.

Stop watching. Get involved. I spent time last night sharing fishing info with a young guy from France and you can’t find someone on IDO to talk WI fishing with you?

I spend most of time on the St Croix River but fish the Turtle Flambeau Flowage, Flambeau River and Hayward area. Miss River is the only game in town now if you want to catch anything but pannies. What areas do you fish most? I don’t know a lot of people that fish SW WI.

I fish s/w WI. Inland lakes a little. I am learning the bass game. Look at my signature. I could also post my failures but that would get awfully boring. You gotta give a little to geta little.

Greyghost – I see you fish the Wisconsin River and you’ve posted some of your success on IDO. Congrats by the way – it looks like you’ve caught some good fish. However, not once have you mentioned how you achieved your success and how you put fish in your boat. Has any angler benefited from your information? Like others stated above, you get out of IDO what you put into it. Instead of just sharing how many fish you’ve caught, try sharing some basic information on how you caught them (no one expects location info.). I bet you will receive some reciprocal reports from other members.
