Battery Energy gauge

I have one in my RV. Does the gauge measure more than just volts? Or does it give me an idea of capacity or hours?

It is reading 40% at the gauge, but my load tester is reading 12 volts at the battery. When I put a load on the battery, it doesn’t drop below 11 volts, so I think the battery is good?

    One more ?

How can I check for a voltage draw using a multimeter?

I think I’ve got something drawing somewhere, but not sure where.

Disconnect one of your battery cables, and with your multi-meter on volts, put 1 meter lead on the battery, the other on the cable. If you read 12 volts, something is drawing power. Keep dis-connecting things, or pulling fuses, until you find the culprit. However, keep in mind, that newer motors have electronic controls on them, that will draw power all the time.

Thanks I’ll give it a try.

I’m still not sure about the energy gauge, unless its just volts.
