    Okay you Tech Gurus.

Every time we use the microwave the wireless internet does not work in have the house. Is there something that we can do to help the situation? That is other than not using the microwave.

    Thanks,

Eddie: “You know that metal plate in my head?”

Clark: “Ah! How could I forget?”

Eddie: “I had to have it replaced, because everytime Cathrine revved up the microwave, I’d urine my pants and forget who I was for about a half-hour or so.

Sorry, its all I can think of.

    Learn to cook?

Seriously, you can try to changing channels on the router, between baby moniters, cordless phones and god know what my neighbors have wireless…. I’m able to get no interference between anything, before the phone would ring BAM no internet connection. Worked for me otherwise you may just need to move the router.

802.11b and 802.11g operate on the same frequency as a microwave oven. All are in the 2.4Ghz range. 802.11a operates in the 5.3Ghz-5.8Ghz range.

Microwaves have been messing up unlicensed wireless for a decade.

    FDR,
    Few questions for you.
    1. What type of wireless router do you have?
    2. Where is it located related to the microwave?
    3. Have you tried to change the channel on the router?

If possible, move the wireless router away from the microwave location and test it. Depending on the make, you may have a wireless test that you can run. If not, you should be able to run ping test to the router from your PC.

Another thought is where is your wireless PC related to the microwave?

    I have a Linksys

    2. Where is it located related to the microwave?
Opposite end of the house and in the basement. Don’t think that I could get them any farther apart.

    3. Have you tried to change the channel on the router?
NO. Didn’t know that I could do that.

Both laptops move around a lot. Kitchen counter, couch, dinner table, bedrooms. Anything within 30 ft jams them up for sure though.
