I have a 2003 115 Evenrude Ficht motor on a 1750 Fishhawk, and was wondering if anyone could tell me how to tighten the steering? It isn’t sloppy, I just want more drag on the steering so it is tighter or takes more to turn. Thanks.

I’m working off a very foggy memory here so forgive me if I end up referencing how to tighten the steering on a 1973 Chrysler outboard.

From inside your boat look at your motor where the steering cables enter the steering arm… your steering arm is the metal sleeve that slides in and out when you turn left and right. Is there a black “star” knob at the end of the steering tube? If so, crank that down a few turns and you should end up with tighter steering.
