I rarely cruise other fishing sites but every once in awhile i’ll check a certain one out. I couldn’t believe what one guy had to say. He said all you UNEMPLOYED BUMS who fish everyday are ruining the fishing for us guys who work for a living. I’m currently laid off and not by my choice. This is what makes IDO hands down the best site out there. Its nice to know there are guys out there with some compassion and respect for each other. Just had to vent sorry, Dan

Sorry to hear about you current employment conditions…however I could not agree with you more about how great a site IDO is. ..I’ve visited many forum fishing sites and read more than my fill of petty posts. There is a great support team here, more like family..
You can vent anytime you need to, I hope your prospects for work improve soon. This certainly is one of the toughest economic times I’ve ever been around for. Keep your chin up, things will get better…
April 12, 2009 at 3:26 am #767753IDO works because of the ethics people on here have. We all know we have received more than we actually give back. The difference is ….we try! Dan, You and I were talking about this in PM’s. That is exactly why I don’t care to associate myself with that site. There is a place for responsible people like most of us, and the daycare for cry-babies.

Dan… and others.
Thanks for the kind words. Although all of the mods try and make this the very best site possible what sets us apart is definitely the quality of the people that choose to visit IDO. Why are we so fortunate to have such a fantastic group? I’m honestly not sure. But we feel fortunate and hope we’re able to keep things headed in the same direction for years to come.
April 12, 2009 at 1:07 pm #767773If he is calling you unemployed bums who fish everyday, it sounds, to me, like he is just jealous.

I have gotten numerous posts deleted from that site, and a couple warnings from the mods because I made reference to IDO in my posts. I saw the post you referred to, and it just gave me another reason to not spend time there. The site is mostly bashing and the mods do nothing about it. They need to take a closer look at who they let on that site.
April 13, 2009 at 7:37 pm #768057IDO is the best because of the type of people who have responded to you thus far. Being new to walleye fishing I have asked some qusetions that I am sure to some seemed pretty foolish but have always been answered with great tips to improve my fishing. Nobody made me feel like a dummy for asking. Like everyone else said keep your chin up something will come along soon and hopefully better that what you had
April 15, 2009 at 1:18 am #768522JD, it is truly a shame that some people can be so selfish and small minded, your right, this is a great site. Good luck, I hope things improve soon.
April 15, 2009 at 5:30 am #768668JD, get your resume on the WI Job Board. I don’t recall the name of it as it changed right about the time I left recruiting. It’s free and it’s the first step..unless you expect your job to call you back shortly.
I could write a book about how Ido and helped me in not only fishing, but many many other areas too.
Wait! By looking at the number of posts…I already wrote a book!
“The more you give – the more you get back” still holds true today.
