I have a 07 Chevy 2500 HD and I just put some new rims and tires on. About 5 miles after leaving the tire shop my display readout says service tire monitor System. You can also hit the button to another display and it reads the tire pressure. It is not reading the pressure. I put on some 20″ rims and 275/55R20 tires. Do I need to to reprogram the computer for the larger tire size?

Either you have transponder valve stems that they did not put on, or there are bands and sensors that go around the wheel that they did not put on. I would call and ask whoever put your tires and rims on if they installed either

Is there a way to tell from my original rims and tires?

07 Chev would have tire pressure monitors that are part of the valve stem. These should have been swapped to the new rims. If the sensors where swapped they need to be relearned in there new position. This is done with a special tool that activates the radio sign from each sensor. I would also recommend having the tire size updated in engine computer. Shift points and such are based on wheel speed and can cause some issues

Thanks for the help! I think I will contact the dealer and make sure everything is corrected.
