    Hey Guys

I had the privilege of fishing with I Do Fishing Pro

    “Chris Granrud” on Monday!!

We drove up to catch the good weather window Sunday night slept 3 hours fished all day Monday. Returned Tuesday and I was in the office by 2:30pm.

I DON’T NORMALLY PROMOTE GUIDES OTHER THAN STEVE CARNEY (with Outdoor News) BUT

CHRIS IS A AWESOME GUIDE, VERY PROFESSIONAL AND REALLY WORKS HARD TO GET YOU ON FISH!

    I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHRIS!!!

Chris, Do you ever get into any decent crappie up there, or just those dinks in the pics.

Those are nice crappies, no doubt, but holding them on outstretched arms distorts the veiw of a nice fish. Yes, they are good’uns, but I like the pic of the fish on the ice the best. More realistic of the size. Just my 2 cents. Not taking anything away from Chris or the lucky anglers.

    Hey WKW,

Fish are NOT being held out on Outstreched arms, and I will gladly take tape shots with the digital for your viewing pleasure in the future. Pics simply taken as close as possible or ZOOMING in to barely show both head and tail to emphasize the details of these freaks of nature. Most people make the mistake of taking pics too far away, and return home not even knowing what they are holding. I’ve got plenty of pics with my ugly mug on them, and would prefer to emphasize the fish instead of me!! Trust me 15-16 inch crappies DO NOT need to be doctored up on camera. BTW those are 15 and 16 inch crappies weighing 2lbs plus with the biggest hitting 2lbs 9oz., so will look larger than 12 and 13 inch “Trophy” fish. We could hold the fish behind our backs with just the mouth and tails peeking out?? LOL!! Big, Round, Heavy and LONG!! Gotta Love it!!

    Hey Steve,

Looking out my window I see the Water under the Tilson Creek bridge expanding out a bit. We’re definately FINALLY losing some ice. Ice out is always a tough prediction. Ice is considered GONE on Rainy when you can navigate from the Dam to Kettle Falls. Often times I’m dropping the hammer on big pike a couple weeks prior to that taking place. My guess would be we’re looking at official ice out to be around first or second week in May?? Setting up for a slightly later spawn leaving the possibility open to put the Giant Eye in the boat possible with a few pounds of eggs!! What it would take to land a new state record in my humble opinion. Going to be 55 degrees for the next few days, so we’re going to be out chasing BIG PIKE!!
