The Bears!! Good thing they have such a good offense the way it is, I am sure he will do so many things there! I am happy that the bears got him, but disappointed in what he is going to. I don’t think he makes them a contender but it makes other teams not contenders as well!!
    Good for the Bears!

2 first round picks is pretty steep if you ask me.

Personally I wish they would have kept orton and upgraded there Oline and wide receivers. I am a die hard bears fan but personally cutler was a waste because he has no one to throw to and a weak O line!!!!

Just by listening to what was said by the jock-sniffers on ESPN the guy seems to be a flake. He’s got a very strong arm and is able to move around so that should make it tough on the Norths defenses. Too bad he doesn’t have much to throw to

the Packers got by for years with receivers like Jon Staggers, Steve Odom, Jeff Query, and Philip Epps..

trust me, the Bears could have six wins in just the division alone..

you can’t tell me that the Viking fans really believe that Trevarous Jackson is in the same league as Cutler for talent..

No way, I don’t think vikings fans are THAT dumb. Like stated above, weak o-line, and rotten receivers could be interesting to waht he can do there. He was a probowler with only Brandon Marshall, and he isn’t all that great, at least not mentioned when people are talking about good receivers. He is however better than what the bears have. Devin Hester?

When I read the subject title I figured I would open it up and find out he went to the Vikes. That would have been scarey. I think he will do OK with the Bears.

Just to put a twist on what some have said including myself, they also signed 0-lineman Orlando Pace today. He is old(33), but is probably an upgrade to a mediocre line.

i dont know how bears fans cant be excited about this deal. its says management wants to win now, not continue to draft around orton and hope he gradually gets better.

plus, they add pace to go with two other free agents who are all better than the two offensive linemen who left after starting last year.

at 25, cutler is a pro bowler who makes everybody better – the running game, the receivers and the defense.

granted, as it stands now, the bears probably have the worst receiving corps in the nfl. but bennett, the third round pick from last year, who played behind two washed up and since cut veterans, led the sec in receiving when cutler was his college qb.

yeah, they gave up a lot in 2 first round picks, but you dont get a pro bowl qb for nothing. and the bears still have 2 top 100 draft picks this year to target another receiver. and torry holt, even though he has a lot of miles on him, is now interested in the bears. plus, how many times last year did hester get behind double coverage only to have orton underthrow him by 10 yards? that wont happen with cutler’s arm.

i have been as critical of the bears gm and coaching as anybody, but the bears are easily in much better shape now than they were at this time yesterday.

Orton was unpredictible, when the Bears needed a sustained drive or at least a couple first downs to give the D a rest, he couldn’t do it. OK, crap for a O-line, average running game, because of his lack of a deep accurate arm, the oposing D could tighten things up a bit. I see this trade as a good thing for the bears.
