Other than draining the gas out of the tank, what do you guys do prepare your augers for summer? This is my first year with a gas auger so I don’t know what should be done.
    Thanks

I put seafoam in tank. Run it until I know its burning. Empty tank. Run engin dry. Fog through spark plug hole with either fogging oil or 2-stroke oil. I also spray the blades and auger connector with spray oil for protection. Been doing that procedure for over 15 years with no engine failures whatsoever.

I add stabilizer (stabiltz, or Seafoam) run it for about 5 minutes, leave the gas in the tank. Grease the blades, spray the auger proper with WD40 or wipe it with light oil, spray any moving parts with lube and hang it up in and upright position with the tank vent open. At the beginning of each winter I get a new spark plug. so far so good, 5 years and counting. Knock on Wood!

Very good idea! I have had allways stored mine upright until last year when i laid it on its side all summer. When it came time to start er up gas would spray out of the compression button and out the spark plug area. Long story short I will allways be storing it upright from now on.

I store mine in a case with large silica gel sheets postioned around the powerhead. With Seafoam ran through the tank. No rusted/spotted/siezed/fouled for this guy
