Carpet Cleaning

How do most you clean the carpet in your boats??

Do you use the Upholstery/Carpet foam for vehicles and vaccuum you out or do you get the carpet wet and shopvac it clean??

Any imput would be appreciated. I’ve wetted and shopvac’d before but am afraid that this is hard on the carpet.

I use dawn dish soap, hot water and a scrub brush. The dish soap cuts the dirt, grease and stuff. Of course the hose and lots of rinsing. 10 years and my carpet looks good.

I take mine to the car wash and have at it. The pressure washer does a great job on the carpet (use soap first, then rinse). You won’t even need to scrub it. I put a fan on it in the garage to help dry the carpet quicker.

either way you clean your boat will work. but once it is clean scotch gaurd it and it will be much easier the next time you go to clean it.
