If your battery voltage drops below 11 volts while starting your big motor, that is the culprit.

Check your starting battery to make sure it is in good condition.

Where is your main power source for the unit? Is it hooked up direct to a battery or spliced into a hot wire under the dash? I believe battery is your best option to avoid surges. Also use the 2amp inline fuse to protect it. Poor battery could also cause enough voltage drop to shut unit off. Sounds like power issue somewhere…..not the unit itself.

it’s wired under the dash, the battery is 5yrs old so that would make sence if the battery is getting a little weak.
i’ll have to look in to that.
    thanks for the replies.

odd about that,,, I have a LMS 334c on the bow and a 520c on the console, and after I’ve been fishing for awhile the 520c will shut off when I start the big motor but not the 334c and they are both tied to the starting battery direct on the positive side and fused.

I had that exact problem a couple years back. I knew it was time to replace the starting battery, but I dragged my feet and one day while on the water, the battery basically died and I had to swap out a trolling battery to get the big motor started. I would replace your battery before it bites you in the
