I cant get my engine to lift up. I get 12 volts all the way to the engine but it wont lift up or start. Something is broke and i have no idea how to move it to get it fixed. Is there a way to pick the engine up without power? Maybe there is a common part that broke that I can replace? I havent found any fuses.

you should have a release screw on your trim that will enable you to remove the tension from your motor and lift it, then tighten the screw….refer to your owners manual for the whereabouts. this same thing happened to me and it was a fuse insdie the motor cover that had blown when I connected the batteries, good luck

Try looking right by the starter, if there is not a black rubber encased inline fuse. Typically, the are held near the starter by a tab, that is bolted to the casing. It can be bent out, to release, then pull the rubber case apart and a fuse should be in there. I had this in the past on a Merc, but maybe you have a similar situation. Good luck

Glad to hear it’s working again, it took me forever to figure it out and to this day I have no idea how I blew the fuse, and its never happened again……did you ever locate your relase screw for your tiltand trim?….its a nice thing to know where it is just in case

no, i have no idea where that is. the repair manual isnt out for my 2008 motor yet. and i lost the skimpy instructions that came with it. I added pictures so that anyone else can see if they happen to do what we managed to do. your right, how the heck does that blow when disconnecting your battery.

from the back of your boat look on the outside right hand side of your mounting bracket for your motor. You should see a small picture of your motor and a regular screw head inside a small hole. to release any pressure or vaccum from your tilt and trim you insert the screwdriver and turn it clockwise, you then with a small amount of force should be able to lift the motor by hand and lock it in the up position. then go back and tighten the screw..turn it counterclockwise and all is good to go, you can lift the motor and let it down as much as you need to, it just gets a little heavy after awhile. I don’t own a suzuki but the mounts and release should all be the same
