    Lets see that’s 40 million times a million apiece.
    According to my calculator that comes out to the
    number 4 with 13 zeros behind it = 40 trillion.
    I don’t think the current bailouts/stimulus have
    gotten that large yet.

    I also don’t think we have 40 million qualified workers out there. There are definitely a lot of good people who need work, but there’s not 40 million.

    The current US population is estimated at just over 300 million. Unemployment rates are estimated around 8%. That’s 8% of the workforce, which is probably 2/3 of the total population. So 8% of 200 million is 16 million people. Of those 16 million people I would say 25% do not really want to work, which brings us down to 12 million.

    12 million people can not replace 40 million. Of those 12 million, many may not be qualified for a whole lot. This would basically lead to us actually loosing 30 million jobs (since they wouldn’t be filled, and many companies would go under). Plus, there wouldn’t really be many people retiring for the next 12-15 years, so the future generations would have little to no chance of finding a job.

    The idea of people getting a free million sounds nice, but it would hurt us severely in the future.

    Do I have to be a legal citizen, or can I still get the money??? Also, can I get a boat instead of a car?
