Nope, not fishing…..my son Grant Schleusner continues on his hot streak with the bow in tournament shooting. He placed 2nd at the Indoor Nationals in Louiseville, KY this weekend. At the end of two days shooting, he was tied with 9 others for first. They had all shot perfect scores of 300 with 60x each day. They had a shootoff, and the additional shots are scored in the second days total score….he finished 2nd, the best he has done at Nationals so far. Here is a link if interested.

Sounds like he needs to take about 5 BIG steps back! He sure doesn’t miss the mark very often! Very impressive.

Congrats to you and Grant June! That’s awesome!

When did Grant start showing an interest in shooting a bow?

I always bowhunted, but got into tournament shooting when Grant was about 5. We got him his first target bow when he was about 7, and he hasn’t put it down since. We took him to all the State and National Tournaments, and he got hooked. He has been a member of the 300 club since he was 16, but his high X count has been something he has worked on a long time, and it’s finally holding pretty steady the last 5 years.

Awesome! The beer man nearly pulls it off!!!! I have been shooting with Grant since the days of the bowhunter class! I have always been impressed with his ability to make shots when he has to! I was so happy for him when he cleaned the three days at Vegas (again)……but a second place at Nationals is simply AWESOME (must have been the Bourbon Barrel Stout)!

I was not able to attend indoor nationals this year so please tell Grant “Congrats” from me……and remind him I will be kicking his butt in two weeks (Rochester Pro-am)

    Thanks,

How about you hook up to the boat and I skip shooting??? Jigging a ring worm sounds more relaxing to me!!

I figured that with the weather we’ve had, the guys will probably be on the river for the day, gives me an out to go watch the boy shoot.
