Motorguide Excel 54 lb. thrust problem

    I have a motorguide excel 54 lb. thrust trolling motor and for some reason the prop will not turn. I know power is getting to the motor because the arrow on the top of the head moves and when you push the stow button it goes to the stow position, so I know it is not the battery. Just having a problem getting the prop to go. Any ideas………?

    do you have electric steering? maybe you have a control board shot. had the same problem with my minn kota.

    My first MinnKota did the same thing. Ends up a seal went out and the armature stuck from being wet. A possibility.
