Sportshow Deals – UNREAL! Read this… then RUN!

Guys,

I just got a call from a buddy of mine that is down at the Northwest Sports Show. The point of his call was to let me know about some of the deals going on right now and one of the deals that stuck out the most was the pricing on MarCum LX5s. Get this… $299. Not just from one dealer. All of them.

$299!!! The MSRP is $549! My understanding is quantities are limited and once the supply is gone… they gone at this price. So if you’re in the market for a flasher… RUN. If you can’t make the show yourself send a buddy with a roll of twenties and have him snatch one up for you.

The VX1 and LX3 are also on sale but when you can get a LX5 for $299 that’s where I’d be looking.

My guess is this will be one of the best bargain shopping years EVER at the Northwest Sports Show.

It sounds like there’s some awesome deals to be had on rods and reels too from what I’ve been told. Come prepared to negotiate and know that very few companies will want to hold any inventory over the summer.

It will be very interesting to hear how long it takes for all those LX5s to be sold. I doubt they would make it past saturday when the big crowds show up.

Not to my knowledge. MarCum has never been at the Northwest Sports Show before so I can only speculate as to why the prices are so low but maybe they just want to make a little bit of a splash this first year?? Who knows??? But I do know a once in a long time deal when I hear about one.

Gulp Alive 2 for $30. Looked to me like the vendors were down about 30% from last year. Around 2:30 yesterday you could have rolled a bowling ball down one of the main walkways and not hit anybody. I know there weren’t 20 people on the carpet the full length of the show. Sure hope it gets better.- – jerr

I’ve worked that show the last couple years and midweek things are always slow until 4PM when the crowds start to show up. Peak traffic hits right about 6 PM and then dies off quickly. Friday is the first day when you see any real traffic with the friday after work crowd making the first strong showing for the event.

And then there’s saturday. No holds barred, people packed in the aisles and booths and keeping the exhibitors busy from 11 AM – 6:30 PM or so. It is tough to judge attendance until you get to saturday. If saturday is slow… ouch. The exhibitors will get more than a little restless.

The price on the LX-5 is crazy. I sold my very gently used one for $375.00 last Dec. I should consider myself lucky.

James…I just got off the phone with Reeds Sporting Goods store and he said they were selling their LX-5s for $499 and he would never sell them for $299 there. He also said that was crazy and that no one would sell them at that price…I think I might have offended him actually… Did your buddy specify which exhibitor he bought one from?

Secondly, if anyone is heading there and wouldn’t mind picking one up for me I would be willing to pick up the entry fee for you to get in. Long story…wife is in Chicago for St. Patricks Day weekend and I have the kids… …no way in heck I will be bringing a 5 & 3 year old in there…lol

I always love agreements where the $ amount is not decided upon prior to the deal occurring… Will it help at all if I wear vikings apparel to soften the price…lol

I just called my buddy at the show back… they are indeed selling them at $299. Don’t know what’s up with Reeds but my guess this is a show only special that is not available anywhere else.

So… either my guy is filling me full of BS (not likely) or there’s a deal to be had for those that go. If in doubt, stop by the Nature Vision booth and ask them who’s selling what and at what price. If anyone is going to know the scoop they will.

This is a real price. I just had a guy call me from there and said that it is a show special. I have been a vexilar guy for the past 8 years but I am going to have him pick me up one. I have a FL-18 that will be going onto the classifieds soon.

I just got a call back from him and he said they are all sold out at Marine General. Dont know if there are anymore anywhere else. He said that he didnt see any at Reeds.

I’d have him head over to the Nature Vision booth and ask if they know where more might be available. It did sound like a number of vendors had them for sale at that price. Hopefully you can snap up one of the remaining few.

I knew this would go fast.

Could these be refurbished units at that price?

All of these units are new and supplied by Nature Vision for this show special,
the units that the vendors have in stock are still at the original $500 price or their own show price but not the $299 deal

WOW!!! the way they made it sound yesterday, they would only have a small quantity (under 50) at that price
I wonder if someone didn’t get the memo, and is selling the ones they have in stock at the $299 price

I got mine from Joe’s.

When I got there I just went to the marcum booth and asked who had them yet. The gentleman working the both walked dad and I over to Joe’s and put one directly in my hands.

Like James said, Id suggest just going to their booth and asking who still has some.
