Pool 8 ice?

Thinking of bringing my boat down to put some hours on it. Is there a lot of big ice floating down the channel? Thanks.

From 7th St landing up to Taylor Island there are some big sheets floating through yet but, it hasn’t slowed down the smaller aluminum boats. Not sure what you are putting in the water, if it’s glass you might want to wait.

I work in a building overlooking the river downtown La Crosse and there was a lot of ice this morning and all through the day. Haven’t really seen any boats since Wednesday. I do think that tomorrow’s temps will clear a lot of it up however it looked like the Black River was trying to clear out as this cold snap hit. Like Bret said it should be clearing up but keep your eyes peeled so you don’t have a Titanic adventure.

Thanks guys….just bought a new flat and itching to run it. Guess I’ll hit the ice and wait till next week!
