Well guys and gals. My wife and I are expecting number two come July and we are having a heck of a time finding boy names that we like. I should say that I’m having a hard time finding ones that I like. She finds all kinds of them but I shoot holes through most of them.

We don’t want to have a common name and we would kind of like it to sound good with our sons name, he is two and his name is Dawson.

I thought I’d see what we could come up with! So let them rip everyone! I’ve only 3.5 months to figure this out.

Maybe if we can come up with a few we can eventually have a poll! I can see it now in the paper,

“Newborn baby boy named by Midwest Fishing Site!”

    Thanks guys!

    Dave

I am not a big fan of all the “newfangled” names. I have a friend with Gavin, Griffon, and Cameron and I laugh. They will be the last kids in school who can spell their names If you want a name that is not popular, go old school.

Hank, Fred, Cody, Max, Cleetus, Arthur, etc.

I named my son Sam. I figured he needed all the help he could learing to spell his name with my genetics.

What we did was look at our family tree. You can find some great names that way. My boys are Thomas and Jonas both great grandfathers one from the wifes side and my side.

I didn’t have any sons, so I never had the arguement with the wife for Johny Cash’s idea of “a son named Sue”

My son is due in June, so I can definately relate. Some of the names we’ve considered are:
Brennan, Brayden, Elliot, Everette, Ezra, Jack, Jonas, Miles, Oscar, Sebastian, Thomas, and about 500 others.
    Good luck!

Beaver Creek, Burwash Landing, Carcross, Carmacks, Elsa, Faro, Haines Junction, Keno City, Marsh Lake, Mayo, Mount Lorne, Old Crow, Pelly Crossing, Ross River, Teslin, Watson Lake and Whitehorse are other names of towns in the Yukon Territory besides Dawson City.

I think Whitehorse would be a good strong name, or Haines, maybe Pelly.

Interesting post. But i think we need your last name. IMO i think the first name weighs greatly on the last name that goes along with it.

Ex. If your last name is Brady,, First name of Tom would be pretty sweet!! but a first name of Brody wouldn’t work out.

I have a Nolan and a Nathan. I have a nephew named Cash and another Wyatt which I think is pretty unique.

I thought about that! Last name is definitely not common.

Deutsch would be the last name. Pronounced Doitch, as in Deutsch Bank.

Keep them coming all, some of these are very promising!
