Tax help- How do you file for a 16 yr old?

    First time for her and it seems to be confusing anyone have this knowledge? Thanks Bill…PS I do Turbo tax for myself if this is any help.

    i do it online, have since i was 15. i use esmarttax.com and just file a 1040ez on there. its really easy they do all the math for you and everything. give it a try it only takes about a hour to file and you get the return back within a couple weeks. give it a try

    Just make sure that she doesnt claim herself for an exemption if you are claiming her. If you have more taxable income than she does, it makes sense for you to claim her.

    Thanks that is what I am looking for. She slid the car into a snowbank this winter and owes me half of the cost for fixing the damages so lets get er done Thanks for your help!

    I thought mine was the only one doing that but she took out the curb. Tough lesson learned SLOW DOWN. At least it was learned witout anyone getting hurt.
