Hello, just wondering if anyone has added a lakemaster card to A Lowrance LCX15MT graph. The Lowrance web site lists this graph as being compatible, after an update off of their site. I know it’s an older graph, but I don’t have the money to upgrade right now. Thanks for any info

Yep they work just fine, I have one that is on my winter boat. I don’t remember the update but I always try to keep them at the latest level.
March 9, 2009 at 3:38 pm #756370I did the update and added the 2008 Minnesota lakemaster chip to my unit last spring. The processing speed on that older unit is really really really slow with the new lakemaster chips. I cotacted Lowrance and they said even though it says on their web site that it will run the new chips it does not work well. Each time I hit the zoom in button I have to wait for almost a full minute for the unit to update to the new zoom range. I would try someone else’s Lakemaster chip prior to buying one. I was rather disappointed with mine. I ended up buying a new 27C this off season because of all the hassles with the old unit when used with the new chips.

I was told by Lowrance that that is not uncommon with the newest chips due to the processor speed on my unit and the 1 ft contour maps on the new chips. I’m not sure if my unit is the 15MT or 16MT so that may make a difference. This really long delay only happens on lakes that have the 1ft contour lines. although the delay is still much longer on all lakes when using the 2008 Lakemaster chip.
March 9, 2009 at 8:56 pm #756553I have no issues with mine, it works fast, no lag. Works great and I’m familiar with it.
My cousin has the x-15 as well, same LM chip. That thing is so slow if I were him I’d cosider throwing the graph off the side of the boat!! Terrible, almost unusable!!
Not sure why his is slow and mine fast, but I think it may have something to do with the amount of icons saved to the unit as we both have the same update(we did it at the same time)?? His is absolutly cluttered with icons!! This is the only difference I see between our units, his is cluttered with icons, I keep mine cleaned up and delete the stuff I don’t need/want. Is this what causes the slow speed?? It’s the only difference I notice.

I removed all the icons from my unit hoping that would help as well. No luck. Like I said I finally gave up and bought a new unit.
March 9, 2009 at 11:12 pm #756610I had no lag problems with mine. I was running the first chip that LakeMaster offered for MN. Sold the boat (w/the chip) before I could try the 2nd version of the MN chip to notice any differences in the X-15.
