Here’s a link to the instructors site that a number of Ido Members used.

    Explorer’s LLC<<

Gary’s offering an on-line course too. I believe Jason Halfin, took the on-line course.

From other students and personal experiance, Gary gets high marks for helping the prospective captain through the pile of paper work that needs to be completed for the USCG OUPV.

I would recommend completing all of the paper work prior to taking Gary’s class. The drug testing must be within 6 months of the certification. The reason I say this is because it avoids surprises. One fella I know completed the class room first, then the paper work and found out that his color blindness disqualified him. There is a way to paperwork around color blindness, but if it takes longer than 1 year, you’ll have to take your physical over and if it takes longer than 6 months, you’ll have to take your drug test over again.

Plan on spending around $1500.00 by the time you’ve obtained your license.
