Most all newer water pump housings and impellers have the same basic design. They take water in on the bottom side and pump water off the top. Here is where you may see differences.
1. The bolts that needed to be removed in order to separate the lower unit from the motor.
2. The shift linkage. On a Merc, they are a knuckle to knuckle connection that pulls apart when you drop the lower unit. On some motors, that linkage needs to be manually disconnected.
3. The water tube running from the lower unit to the top of the motor. Note how you disconnect it and reverse the procedure when you re-assemble.
4. The number of and order to the seals. Remove them in order and re-assemble in the same order.
Let me tell you something about that post. I put that up almost 4 years ago. I have had dozens and dozens of people send me notes or calls of thanks! That was easier than I thought. I have also had a handful of people who got stuck, broke something or couldn’t get the motor back together. I share in their frustration. What I learned is something that may seem fairly simple to one person, may be totally complicated to another. Buyer Beware!
BTW, Welcome to IDO. Hope you find a place to hang your hat!
