For the most part they haven’t been there full time for a couple years. Frank was banged up pretty bad in a scooter accident a few years back and had scaled back a lot since then. If I remember correctly their son or daughter or inlaws of some type were taking over. I don’t know if that is still the case. Doesn’t really change the campground though, just who checks you in.

FIRST OF ALL THEY NEVER STOPPED RUNNING THE CAMPGROUND EVEN AFTER THE ACCIDENT FRANK HAD NOBODY TOOK OVER ANYTHING FROM THEM.IT WAS FRANK , LAURA AND THEIR DAUGHTER INLAW WHO WERE RUNNING IT. YOU MAY SAY IT DOESN’T CHANGE ANYTHING BUT MAYBE YOU AREN’T AS INFORMED AS YOU THINK. FRANK AND LAURA FOUGHT TO GET THE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE CAMPGROUND WHEN THE DIRECTOR DID NOT WANT TO SPEND A DIME. THE NEW SHOWERS NEW STORE ALL OF WHICH THE DIRECTOR DID NOT WANT.

Um, not real sure of your tone but I don’t get the impression it is friendly. Considering I live quite close to the Sarafins and camp at Rock Dam routinely I am rather confident of my information.

I know they both lobbied for improvements to the grounds but they are certainly not the only reason things get done. Funds are set aside in this county for each of the grounds and are spent accordingly.

From the average campers perspective the only real change will be who is taking the money. Well unless the replacements are real knobs. But at least maybe we can go back to making reservations at the grounds themselves!

as for my tone its neither friendly nor unfriendly. I talk to Frank almost daily and hunt with him as well. As for the confidence in your information I am sure you are. I am just pointing out that what ever info was given to you was wrong. He did indeed have the accident but they never stopped running the campground for one minute. They were there last 19 years none stop.

While they did indeed stay in their park model the entire time I can assure you more often than not the daughter in law, as I mentioned earlier, was doing the vast majority of the daily chores. But you are indeed right those guys were there as per normal.

Frank and Laura are good people and will be missed at the campground by most that knew them.

Did you bear hunt with Frank? I’ve spoken to him several times about bear hunting and it is very obvious by the twinkle in his eyes that is his passion.
