I saw an Ad on IDO T.V. last weekend and it featured Paradise Cove Resort in Minaki Ontario. I looked at their website and received literature in the mail, but am wondering if anyone has ever been there. Some things I would like to know are: Are there good numbers of walleye? What style of fishing is done there? Jigs?, rigs? trolling rapalas? Are there reefs or sunken islands to fish, or is it a lot of shoreline fishing? Do you have to travel far to get to decent walleye spots? Is there a chance at a big fish (7lbs or greater)? It also looked like some nice pike and muskie are in the lake. Lastly, how long of a boat ride to Sand Lake to the north of the resort? Thanks for any info anyone can share.

Nice place, newer cabins, good docks and launch.

Went up there around the end of July-early Aug. for 3 straight years. Good skis and pike, big walleyes too. You can be catching strong river eyes on either side of the railroad bridge next to the resort. Some big muskies swim that area too!

Big sand is about an 11-12 mile run but worth the trip. Lots of variables on that lake. Great humps and reefs for rigging but the main basin in the heat of the summer is where it’s at.

Suspended fish in the 150-225ft. range. Tail dancer deeps-no#9 shad raps-reef runneres etc. can all tag big fish.

Awesome area! Good luck if you get up there and let me know if you need some more info
