Video, 20 minutes is where he adderess the ban

    http://www.c-span.org/Watch/watch.aspx?MediaId=HP-A-15821

They’re going to take away all the rights of legal gun owners, and manditory gun registration is probably comming, even though they contniue to ignore all the statistics and proof that this will make no positive impact on crime, just watch the crime rates, they’ll be jumping.

Yeah of course this will make us safer, as we all know criminals obey laws…

I’ll leave any other comments out

I know lots of gusy who are loading up on guns that will never be traceable. Nice thing though, we’ll be able to run down to the corner and get legally registered pistols now.

Everytime these “assault weapon” bans start coming down I ask the same question, and it never gets answered.

What is an assault weapon? Fully automatic, guns with evil black stocks, scopes, removable stocks? I don’t understand, but by calling it an assault weapon, I guess I should be scared.

I have also gone over and above the call of duty. I have kept track of my semi auto guns for 10 years now. They have never left my house and went on a shooting spree when I was not home. If I did not know better from what I hear on the news, I would think they are an inanimate object

In the context of that video link, there is not a problem with “Assault Weapons”. The AG clearly admitted there is a problem with border security.

Fix the real problem and leave me and my guns alone!

Once I had an AK-47 that used to sneak out of the house all the time when I was away and randomly open fire on innocent folks. Upon its return, after one such shooting rampage, I confronted it and demanded to know why it was behaving that way! It shot back that it was jealous of the automobile and wanted to be recognized as the more prolific killer! Out of exasperation, I finally expelled it permanently from the residence and as far as I know it is still out there reaping havoc on an unsuspecting citizenry! I would be remiss if I did not add a cautionary note that just because that assault rifle refused to take responsibility for its actions does not mean they all are irresponsible! Never had a problem with my other two!

Clearly there are border issues, but then stories like THIS come along, and you really gotta wonder if the AG is just blowing smoke up our becasue then there are stories like that, that actually make it to court, though he was mostly cleared, they still won $78K!!! “Cleared”

How the AG lets stuff like this happen, only further undermines our borders.

Then in additon they say they need help here Then they say the raid on illegals is bad. Here Posted on the SAME DAY!

does it surprise anyone??? anybody that elected this socialist in, should be ashamed of themselves. he is going to tax us all into the poor house, do everything he can to take our guns away, and then raise the country back up with a form of socialism…

i’m a young guy compared to most of you, and i’m seeing myself how he is dragging this country through the mud right now. you cannot better the economy by going more into debt, it just doesn’t work that way.

and he has a long history of voting for any and all gun bans ever coming across his desk as a senator.

I am doing my part. Join the NRA, and do it now. That is one thing we can do as a group to let these weasels know where the grass roots are. There is no one from the “Middle Ground” waving their arms and jumping up and down saying “Let’s be reasonable here and look at the FACTS!!!” It is the far Left and far Right that do all the talking and demanding. The people out in “Fly over Country” just continue to get dumped on and follow the lemming in front of them over the cliff. When I brought this up during the election, I was told I was over reacting, and that he/they would never do that.

I am not going to attack an individual person here…but just look at the landslide of kneejerks and earmarked spending coming out of Washington right now. It is like there is a riot going on and everyone is smashing windows and looting every store! Money is being spent by the trillions now with no accountability.

    And this is CHANGE???
    You bet it is.

Use your stimulus check and go out and buy a new “Assault” rifle, and show Washington we have a voice.

I am gonna jump off this soap box before I break something..

First off assault is an action, not a device. Confusing the two is nothing short of ignorant. I’ve continued to check my semi automatic rifles and not a single time have they done anything on their own. Not once. That is a clue.

For those yawning as if these restrictions mean nothing consider this. The Second Amendment is responsible for protecting all others. With 2A gone there is nothing citizens have to protect themselves with from an over zealous government. And speaking of these yawners. I ask why they are not the least bit concerned that they voted for someone who promised to not interfere with the Second Amendment and yet now is. Is voting for a lie now ok?

All of that aside can anyone who doesn’t care, or feels this is boring old rehash, explain to me how more gun restrictions will do a single thing to curb crime? (That is the intent right, curb crime?) Before you start give me a minute and let me get some popcorn, a soda, and a blanket. This ought to be a good story.

As eluded to earlier though this subject will take a back burner as Americans will soon be waking up to the realization that out leaders have completely and utterly bankrupted this country. Simply amazing.

The heck with soap boxes. Use your finger tips!!!

It starts right here if you want to be heard. Problem is too many people are too lazy to protect their rights and make themselves heard.

    Senate Contact info

    Committees

    House of Representatives

All it takes is a blanket email

I, (your name here), am a law abiding citizan of the United States of America. I am a registered voter, and I must have your help. Introduced Bill number (enter resolution or bill number) is proposing to restrict my right to own and lawfully use a firearm that is wrongfully identified as an assult weapon. This Bill #(enter here) is a direct violation of my right to own and bare arms, and I anticipate you will vote directly against it. Regardless of any attachments, this must be voted down.

I assure you, if you vote in acceptance to this Bill, and violate my right to lawfully own a firearm of my choise, I will do all within my power to encourage ALL sportsmen to vote you out of office!

Thank you for your time and understanding my position on this matter.

    Hey Brian.

I’m just bored with the non-stop political BS going on here ever since the election. Don’t get me wrong, I hunt and want to always own a gun and feel that’s an important freedom,

but here again…we have an extreme viewpoint being expressed IMO out of context. I think Jon Jordan even sees this one. This is the AG, giving a news conference on a Mexican drug cartel bust involving agents from several states (including MN). In a followup question from a Mexican (from Mexico) reporter, a question was asked of him how he planned to safeguard the people fighting these cartels in Mexico. One idea he had was to reinstitute a ban on assault weapons.

This was not a news conference to announce a ban on assault weapons, just a AG trying to deftly answer a tough question from a foreign reporter.

And here we go again……….first its this new “socialist” President blah, blah, blah……..

Get real people. If anyone, Dem or Repub wants to go after the 2nd amendment or gun control, there will be a major announcement and a major debate. Enough of this sky is falling bs……

So what are you saying then ???? You refer to “Change” what do you mean by it ???? I believe it means, if you are in a tailspin, you try to change course, hopefully correcting the course so you can survive or at least minimize the casualties.

so, what you’re telling me is, the sky fell, during the clinton administration? when the Assault Weapon ban was first placed…

try not to put your foot in your mouth so far next time…

oh, and have you seen bill HR 45? the one that would require an ID card to purchase ammo, buy a gun, make it illegal to cross state lines with a firearm without notifying that state, etc etc…

you keep telling yourself it won’t happen, do nothing about it, and it will happen. and then people like you will have nobody to blame but yourselves for this.

just like the smoking ban, people said no big deal, even though they were infringing on people’s rights. well…now they want to ban it in cars, and how long till you can’t even smoke in your own house?

the point i’m trying to make, is if you let them get away with laws like this, they will just continue to chip away, to get to their ultimate goal of the liberal left – ban guns altogether. but they can’t do it all at once, but if they ban assault weapons, put tighter and tighter restrictions on all things related to firearms, it will get to the point where it is too big of a hassle to even own one.

we need to hold these people accountable for their actions and not let them just pass any frivilous law, just because “it doesn’t effect me” directly.

I blame it on a few major factors , now granted these are just my opinions. I fault the lending that has been going on, (including the institutions and the guy who knew was being loaned money, he could never pay back)the money spent trying to spread democracy, where they would rather cut an americans head off, than join them. The greed of the Oil industry, making hay on the tailend of the collapse and yes, frivilous spending in washington (this one is not immune of any group and crosses party lines). Actually, the change people are afraid of, I welcome. Spending tax money in America, will help Americans. Spending it abroad, well that just helps others and hurts americans. Whatever path we were on for the last few years, I welcome change from it If you would like to stay the course, as we all found out in November, that puts you in the minority.

Who was in control of the House and Senate the last two years?

    Just curious.

Again, back to this post…In my opinion, joining the NRA is a great way to make your voices heard if you want to do something…It would be interesting to see what the enrollment numbers for the NRA look like as of late.

Ruger has a program out right now where you can purchase a firearm donate some $$$ to the NRA. The even have a 50 year Anniversary NRA Mini 14.
