I love my Strike Lite by Strike Master!
Light weight, no mixing gas, quiet, cuts good, ALWAYS starts. After running one of these for a couple of years I will not run anything else! Best of luck on your auger search!

The one that starts easy, cuts like mad and is paid for.

There’s a ton of threads on this from earlier in the season if you want to do a search. And I’m sure guys will drop in with their own faves as well.

Personally I really like the Strikemaster 4 stroke auger when the ice is less than 24″ thick or so. Thicker than that and I will switch to the Strikemaster 2 stroke.

I love my Eskimo MAKO !!!! Starts great, if I have to pull it 3 times, I am disapponited… Usually starts on the 1st or 2nd pull. Cuts like a dream, just let the auger do the work, no need to “lean on her”. Lots of good augers out there, comes down to personal preference really, kinda like a boat motor.

My fav is the one my partner brings along. I don’t care what kind it is or how long it takes him to start it as long as I’m not cutting the holes.

Second place is the 4 thumper Strike-Lite. Quiet, smokeless easy starting, no mixing of oil…hassle free holes.

Well, not as hassle free as my first choice.

That’s what I thought, Strike Master Lite.

How would it be inside a Fish House?

    Too much oder?

It is a 4 stroke so there’s no oil burning and almost no exhaust fumes of any kind to air out after punching your holes.

Had to ask. The wife made me buy an Electric and being that was one of the augers that was stolden I thought maybe I could get by without one if I had the Strike Master Lite.

I’ve always been a huge Strike Master fan! I have a Lazer Mag that is 8 years old great machine. The question is does a guy want to take advantage of the great end of season prices or wait until next season??? I like what I’m hearing for next season German engines and a possible new look (not sure about strike-lite engines).

That’s a pretty tough choice knowing what’s coming down the pipe for next winter but I look at it this way… if you buy this spring you might not have the latest and greatest but you will have a proven auger that cuts great at a close out price.

Yup I agree with that one too My faovorite is the one Bret Clark brings along, the Strikemaster, and uses to drill all the holes.

My vote is the Strikemaster Express 2 stroke. Had it now for 5 years and never had one issue. Still cuts like a dream and starts great.
