So if the reports are accurate, where does this move put the Twins in the AL Central. If indeed they got him for a one year deal, this was a no-brainer for the Twins.

If he plays, he hits 25-30 HR’s and provides the RH power we’ve been seeking. If he’s hurt, we play Buscher and we’re no better no worse than we would have been.

Does this open the door for the Twinks to trade one of their OF stable for a quality setup guy?

Where does he hit? How about …..

    Span
    Casilla
    Mauer
    Morneau
    Crede
    Young/Cuddyer
    Kubel/Cuddyer
    Punto
    Gomez

How is this team not going to win 100 games?

It’s good to see the Twins spending some of that hard earned tax money from Hennepin County!!

I like the move. If he can stay healthy, he’d be incredible. Just the numbers he puts out when he’s not healthy are impressive.

If he plays half the season, we win the central.

As far as dealing an OF, I dont like the idea. We are really close to signing Cruz for relief, and making a trade wouldnt make a whole lot of sense.

I might slide him down to the 7 spot.

    Young/Cuddyer/Kubel in the 5 & 6 spots.

My thinking being that usually one those guys sitting in the 5&6 will be on base when Crede gets to the plate, and we can get some good RBI production in that part of the order.

I’m not a Crede fan. He can hit a little but has trouble staying on the field. He may be better then what we have when healthy but they haven’t done anything to address the long term. Seems like another band aid.

I still would like to see Gomez go down to triple A for at least a 1/2 year to learn the game and get under control a little more.

I think Kubel and Young will make the biggest jumps in stats this year. Both are just dripping with pro talent.

If Detroit gets the pitching squared away I see them fighting it out with Cleveland for the title with the Twins a close third. If they falter we may sneak in and make a run!

IMHO 90 wins will be a very good year for them.

I still think Dilbert has good trade value for another solid pitcher. I can’t believe Gardy even wants a punk like him around.

We should be pretty solid this year though.

I think you are right. I don’t think Gardy wants him either. But the kid has talent, if Gardy can somehow get him to drive the ball then they will have trade value. I think he has a few more years before he starts to hit the big money so getting him traded this year or next would bring the premium return.

Obliviously they won’t get him traded anytime soon. That is why I would send Gomez down for seasoning.

I can’t wait to get the season going!

as a sox fan good luck with crede–seemed liked he was always hurt or something was nagging. seemed liked he never new to hit for power or avg. i never think he lived up to the hype of his agent– i believe scott boras..he will be a good 6-8 hitter in the twins lineup if healthy for more than a month

I just heard he signed for only $2.5 million plus incentives. That makes the deal a bit easier for me.

My main concern now is I have Sox fan only 20 miles from me!

For 2.5 million they had to make the deal. I think they had more invested in Lamb last year. Thats a small risk large reward deal if you ask me.
