February 20, 2009 at 7:37 am #750725for updates on her progress, you can access that through the caring bridge link that blue posted, while you are out there, sign her guest book, it would mean alot to me, but more to my wife. she has made a few more steps while I caught a few hour cat nap. go and check it out.

You have no idea on how good that sounds to me right now. I told the social worker there that she shouldn’t even need to be there, if where up to me, I would rather have her at home being a little princess (brat) than laying there going through all of that pain.
Again, thanks to this family for the support! IMO, things like this make this site the greatest on the web!!!!!!

February 20, 2009 at 6:21 pm #750877a quick update for those who can’t get to the caring bridge website.
she is developing some more liquids on her right side lung, they are hoping that they will be able to take care of that with medication instead of putting in a chest tube on the right side. with her blood being thinned already to be on the ECMO, they are affraid that she will develop internal bleeding if they have to go in. she has been off of her blood pressure meds since 10 am this moring which is great news, they tried last night and she starting to loose her blood pressure so they put her on at 1/2 of her dose that she was at. now she is completely off of it. they are also lowering her dose of steriods to 1/2 of what she was on. little baby steps are being taken and she is making improvements in the right direction.
Again, thanks for all of the support, it has been much needed by me and my family and it is nice to have.
thanks again,
shane

Small but positive baby steps is what she needs, and is great to hear she is making them.
Prayers continue for Kristen and your family.
JackFebruary 22, 2009 at 12:13 am #751148Shane,
Prayers for God’s healing touch for your little girl, that He will give the doctors the wisdom to treat her, and for peace & comfort for your family.February 22, 2009 at 1:37 am #751165Glad to hear things are getting better Lydia and I have your family and daughter in our prayers.
February 22, 2009 at 3:01 am #751181I am proud to come back home and say that there where some things that happened today, here is what they are.
Sorry for not so many updates today, there have been a few problems today, don’t worry I’m fine. They had to replace a part on the ECMO machine today. But all is well and running fine and I am doing good.
My fluid level has gone down even since this morning so I am starting to look like my pretty little self.
My xray today looked better than yesterday so that is good news. My rash looks like it is completely gone, mom wasn’t able to completely check the top of my head because of my braid, but from what she could see it looks good. They are small baby steps, but they are in the right direction.
Mom took some pictures of the machines, but having trouble getting them to load. So we will see if Dad can do it tonight when he gets home or Mom will do it in the morning when the resource center opens up again.
Again, supporting other in their trials is what makes this site awsome, I appreciate all of the support and prayers and aslo asking others to pray for her as well. to me it is amazing to see that 1 little girl can have this type of Godly affect everyone, I am proud to report, that last night I had a great conversation with another person who was questioning his faith. we got him squared away on it now. I can see Gods hand in all of this and I am humbled by the support for my daughter.
Again, thanks for the support for our family but mostly just keeping my baby in your thoughts and prayers.

February 22, 2009 at 10:04 pm #751331ok Guys, we have some good news and some bad news, we are just taking it day by day. I am sorry to say but me and the boys came up positive for strep group A and we are now on Antibiatics. so now I can’t go the hospital for 2 days. talk about an empty spot that I can’t fill, I am feeling like I am letting her down, but I don’t want to re-infect her with it or any elses kid that is down there. have to do the resposible thing.
anyway, I am going to post a few pictures of her and a couple from the hospital. the ones from there might be hard to look at, if they upset you, I am sorry.

February 22, 2009 at 11:18 pm #751343Hang in there!! It sounds like thing are heading in the right direction.
February 23, 2009 at 12:41 am #751367Prayers go out to you and your family, Sounds like everyone is on the road to recovery. Take Care.
February 23, 2009 at 3:45 am #751433here is an update.
The nurses went out to give mom an update to let everyone know how things are going. Things are going very well today. They have taken me off the Nipride and they are going to start wean me off the Nicardipine over the night. At midnight they are going to take me off the hydrocordizone. They are starting me on a nebulizor tonight because I’m starting to wheeze a little bit.
Tomorrow they are going to do an cardio echo. Depending on how that looks and how my labs and blood counts look they are talking about challanging me in the next few days by turning down the ECMO machine a little bit to see if my body can keep up. Mom got to see my xray from this morning (she was so excited about the fact that my lung volume increased that she forgot to ask earlier) it looked really good.
The sores on my tongue are looking better than this morning and they are able to clean them up a little bit since they got my platelets to increase.
Mom gets to come see me tomorrow at 4, I can’t wait!
thanks
shane

February 23, 2009 at 5:42 am #751452thats very good news. thats what we like to hear. my prayers are still going out to you keep up the good work!!!
February 23, 2009 at 12:59 pm #751469I just want to say ”THANKS EVERYONE” for keeping her in your prayers. This is something we all need to do every single day. The Lord says that where 2 or more are in agreement in prayer that HE is in the middle of them. We have ALOT more than 2 or 3 praying for her and we need to keep praying for her as you can see by the updates that HE is hearing our prayers. The more prayers the better. We can all have a big impact on this situation by praying for her daily. THANKS.
Hang in there buddy as the LORD is answering the prayers of many.
Thanks, BillTHANK YOU LORD.
