I’m at an independent agency. We’ve got about 40 companies we work with, and about 12 that are very competitive for personal insurance. If you’re interested in shopping, let me know.

Progressive.com is pretty reasonable. I don’t know if they still do this, but I also got about $50 or so off my first 6 month premium for signing up on line.

Be sure you have your existing policy handy to answer the questions and to set the policy limits to a comparable amount, and it only takes about 10 minutes to get a quote.

my guy Frank Herman is an independent agent at Advance ins Agency in Edina. I have been with him for years. My whole family switched to him after I signed with him. I pay 137 a month for full on a 2007 dodge truck!!! Go with him. Send me a pm and I’ll put you in touch with him.

WOW! $137/month sounds very high to me.

2008 Toyota Highlander, full coverage, $260/6-months or $43/month. American Family, Rochester, MN.

$137/month sounds high but it also depends on age and driving record and multiple policy discounts etc. Best to shop around as everyone is different.I have American Family and they are OK but have been on the cheap side for homeowner claims.Ive got my money out of them but had to fight a little to get it.

I’m in Iowa, don’t work in MN, but for someone to get a recomedation for liability limits from someone who has no idea what kind of assets he or she are trying to protect is just nuts! It doesn’t cost much to get higher limits or even a personal liability umbrella. Sometimes it’s cheaper to pay slighlty higher premiums for much better coverages.

No doubt. Shop around. The zip code where you park at night can raise premiums more than a guy would think….

If you have a good driving record try Millers First. I have been with them for years. Have my auto/home/boat and umbrella with them. They do not cover motorcycles or campers. Since they only cover people with good driving records, their rates are great. I just paid $428.00 for six months for full coverage on an 01 Chevy truck and an 05 Chevy Trail Blazer. Might be worth a call. 1-800-558-0500.

I can. And now with you guys lving in a virtual target range, what with all the nice people over there shooting at each other, I guess I’d expect to see another raise.

After being with Progressive for 8 years they more than doubled my rates since my daughter got her licsense. Also had my boat, and my brides motorcycle insured with Prog. Shopped around with various agents and insurance companys and ended up saving $200 every 6 months and we have much better coverage, BUT it took alot of work, calling around etc. Good luck. My boat also got cheaper with better coverage. We ended up with State Farm. Good ridance Progressive

I went from American Family last year to using an independent agent. They hooked me up with a plan through Allied for an 01 pickup an 06 lund fisherman and my house with the same deductibles and higher coverage for less than Am fam wanted to renew on the house.Thats with no current claims and an excellent driving record and credit score. The picky companies started playing the credit score game now.

i’ve been looking myself this month. i have yet to find anyone that can touch AIG. i live in eastern iowa, i want to because of the way they handled their business and we bailed them out once or twice. i had two minor claims with no other auto involved and they jacked my price up $200 per year. even at that i’ve check and check and can’t find anyone who can touch them. if anyone and i mean anyone can show me someone, i would dump them even if they are about the same prices. i type my zipcode into the greatautoinsurance web site and AIG doesn’t even show up. in fact i have no local sales reps in my area, but they have adjusters hired in all areas to check out ur claims. so anyone whom would like to show me u can better AIG auto insurance prices, by all means email me here and we will make contact.

Like my post on 2/16 above . Check out Amica Ins. J.D. power best rating for 9 years in a row. Rates are good, great service and quick to payout if you have a claim.
