Since when did paypal hold payment funds until item is delivered? Last time I used paypal you could withdraw funds to make sure they cleared and then you could ship the item. Now you can’t withdraw the payment until the buyer confirms that it was delivered?

Anyone have any problems with this?

No, never. Typically I withdraw funds the nano-second they hit paypal and then take care of shipping, etc.

News to me also. I just sold a half dozen items on there. Git the email that the payments were made, logged in, and transfered funds. No issues! Now, I do have a delay of a couple days sometimes for the transfer to go through to my bank…

I have had that happen to me once, and I didn’t think too much of it, however; I believe the buyer has that option to not fully release payment until merchandise is received or shipped.

It is a new ebay policy this year to combat fraud. It happened to me recently when I opened an additonal account to sell some stuff for some friends. They only did it for the first two sales and they have not done it since. Scott

I will try to explain this one as best as I know based off of personal experience. If your paypal account has direct funds from previous transactions or its linked into a credit card the payment should be instant. HOWEVER if your paypal account is tied into a Bank (IE: Wells, TCF) it’s not always going to be immediate. I have had payments that have stayed in a “pending” status until it clears with my bank (typically 3-4 days to complete) because it creates an “eCheck”

    Ditto for me, too.

Paypal says payment is on hold. I have it directly deposited to my bank account. If I go to withdraw funds to my bank account it says my balence is $0.

I had the same thing happen to me. Sold 3 items, 2 were fine, and one was put on hold. If you read the fine print the money will be released in 21 days, or when the buyer leaves positive feedback.

I wish they would have sent an email saying that they changed that policy, was a suprise to me.
