Mille Lacs Area Resort Suggestions?

Any suggestions on a kid friendly resort in the Mille Lacs area that has RV camping? I’m looking for a place to take the kids (4 year olds) this summer that has things for them to do when I’m on the water. Like playground, swimming beach, etc. Ideally a place that doesn’t pack you in on top of one another. Does this perfect place exist or have I drown too many fatheads and lost touch with reality? Thanks.

    Pete’s Retreat!!

Absolutely the nicest most kid friendly, huge sites, well kept RV park on Mille Lacs!! I’ve seen all of them, non compare.

2 brand new pools, new lodge, kids activities every weekend from minnow races to crafts. The owners geared the resort towards kids and family. New fish cleaning house, fishing pond, bike track, BBall, horseshoes, volleyball..etc.etc.

Better book soon…they fill up quick with all the RV shows this time of year!

For an RV I would have to agree with Pete’s Retreat. I haven’t stayed there, but had gone in and looked around. Very nice and clean place!

Thanks for the info. Never been out of Malmo. How is the public access for one person to launch out of? Parking?

been to Pete’s once, thought it was ok, not much for shade. We stay at South Isle Family Campground, just south of Isle. Pool is good, Wally has a train which he gets out on the weekends and doesn’t put it away till all kids have had a chance to get a ride. There is no sewer hookup or cable tv, or an extravagant fish cleaning shak, but plenty of room and shade. http://www.southislecampground.com/ Oh yeah, Fiddlestix golf course is right across the road and a great palce to take the kids for an afternoon. I do have to say that the little diner in Malmo serves up some of the best breakfast, which is just a quick walk from Pete’s.

the public access in malmo has alot of parking and launching there by yourself should be easy for you.I have found that it can get pretty shallow though if the water level is down(last couple of years)so check it out first before go.The malmo sand could be hot again this year

Dennis recently moved some trees around to give more
shade to the weekenders. The pull through sites and full time
residents have lots of trees. The trees that were moved should
Start growing a canopy soon. They are always working on something
    To make the place better.
