The board wouldn’t let me edit my orginal Post so I started a new one…hope it’s ok.

I’d first like to say THANKS for all your prayers and concerns!.

But I’m sad to say it doesn’t look good for Kenny, they did and MRI and two EEG tests and there was no brain activity.

The family will be deciding on what we’ll be doing next.

That’s all I’m gonna post for now.

I’ll post more when I know it.

That is horrible and tragic news. I wish I had the words to ease the pain, but time will have to heal that wound. All I can do, is express my condolences to Ken’s family and friends. He will surely be missed here on IDO.

Maybe IDO could start a RiverEyes’s Photo forum where people could add their pics. There will be a serious lack of nature pictures on this site.

What horrible news! Never met the man but was ALWAYS fascinated by his attitude and ability to capture the best things we often take for granted right thru his camera lens. For family and friends my heart goes out to you…. May your higher power help you thru this difficult time. Think of all the great memories and there’s always hope for a miracle! Kurt

I never met him either, but always looked forward to his new photos, especially the waterfowl ones. He was a hell of a photographer.

Some of you may remember that I posted a while back on a bad day I was having……I got several pm’s, this one from Ken. I’ve never met him in person, we’ve played fantasy football against each other for a couple of years, but……I hope you can all appreciate this………and I hope it is appropriate.

I think it is appropriate and gives some good perspective into what type of guy Rivereyes is:

“We have all had them…. myself included.. I try to put that stuff in the past ASAP… that bad day is over… its done… if there are ramifications that you have to live with from that point on the sooner you accept it and move on the better… to accomplish these things I look at the good things in my life.. and usually those good things are still there… most of them anyway…. every blessing you have to you treasure.. its so easy to take things for granted… it would be ideal if you could get out and do something you like.. but if you cant right now… think about when you can… make some plans for the future… its hope for the future that keeps us going… not memmories of the past…. unless you are dead at this momment we all have a future… I myself have health issues that could remove me from this world at anytime… this gives me the ability to appreaciate fully each day I have… everytime my eyes open from a nights sleep I can smile at a the prospects of a new day… when you approach each day as something to enjoy… something to get just as much out of as you can you will be suprised by how many rewards will await you….
there are some motivational speakers Ive listened to that help as well… such as Dr Wayne Dyer…. though I wouldnt say I totally embrace everything he says… there are many things he has said that make profound sense… if nothing else he has an upbeat and optimistic approach that is hard to beat…
so I hope that things will start to go great for you soon… may you see and enjoy the blessings this day brings..

That sounds like RiverEyes Eric…. I also got to know him pretty well through PM’s. We shared alot of the same views on things…. and would bounce off each other when it got too hot in here. I for one am praying for a recovery, but if it is not to be, I know I will miss him, not even knowing him personally, but through IDO. His outlook on life, could help alot of us out, I think.

I will greatly miss Ken’s fantastic pictures, and his insightful posts. Like many people here, I have never met him in person. I wish I would have had the opportunity. I will continue to pray for a miracle, and pray for God to give strength and comfort to his family.

Ken goes back to the very early days of this website. He has been consistent for all these years of sharing his photo art, lending a listening ear, and sharing his love for the environment…all of God’s creatures.

May God be with you Ken…

Ken was one of the first “Regulars” of FTR. He became “Staff Photographer” on EFN as things progressed. His pictures of ARM events and GTG’s were awesome! Remember his banter with Stillakid? (Stillapup! ) His personality was befriending and accepting of all races creeds and beliefs. He is truly one of a kind! Ken was always the peacemaker. He would fire things up and get people thinking….and then interject his self deprocating humor to calm down a heated debate. Did he enjoy a good debate??? Oh my GOD!

From what I know of Ken, he is a man who has given much more than he has taken. I think we can all learn a life lesson from Ken in that way. I know I can.

Should this be the point where Ken takes the fork in the road that we all will one day…he will do so by taking the hand of his daughter that he loved so dearly who took that road ahead of him. Speaking for me, it would make this tragedy a little easier to accept.

To Ken’s family, God bless you all! Please continue to keep us updated.

I am so sadden to hear this news. I have talked to Ken a few times on the phone and in PM’s and he has helped me as I honed my photo skills. I always looked forward to his posted pics – they were always so beautiful and his eye for nature was awesome. I will continue to pray for Ken and if a miracle can’t be had, then at least for a peaceful passing. I have been away from the computer most of the day and when I saw the post for Ken’s album – I knew the news couldn’t be good. I also pray that his family and friends that are there by his side know that Ken goes on to a better place and that no matter how hard we will miss him – he will always be with us in one way or another.

That is very sad news to hear. He had a real knack for capturing the beauty of nature with his camera. I’ll miss seeing his pictures and reading his post here on IDO.
