A Stillwater man is dead after a snowmobiling accident in Idaho, near the Montana border.
According to officials, 50-year-old James Albertson was struck and killed by a car while he was crossing Highway 20, just south of Pond’s Lodge in Fremont County, around 11 a.m. on Sunday.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office determined Albertson crossed the highway without first checking to see if it was clear.
The car’s driver allegedly saw Albertson, but it was ‘too late to avoid the accident.’
Authorities said Albertson was dead when they arrived at the scene.
They have not released the name of the car driver or his or her condition.
