Hi Guys, I know you all do a lot of fishing in the summertime with Deep Tail Dancers. I am heading there this summer and I am looking at buying some more DTD. My question is…What size do you guys usually run? The number 9 or 11? Also what are the top colors? Thanks

I primarily use #11s. Colors depend upon the time of year. Earlier in the season I like bleeding tiger and flash perch. Mid summer I start to use other colors such as purpledescent and purple clown flash.

I agree with Brad…but if I could fish TWO LINES I would have one with a #9 Black/Silver Shad Rap on lead.

Anyone use GSR’s,JSR’s or the original TD’s there? What about the Reef Runners? I like the action of the Deep TD’s but only 1 factory color with a white enough colored underside, which seems to perform best here. The rest are red, shiny,or pink for options. Not that they dont work on some bodies of water but,how many baitfish has anyone seen with a red, shiny & or pink underside? I wish they would have made some of the Deep TD’s with a couple of the same colorations as the original TD’s! Repainting a few Deep TD’s at 7-8$ each & being a paint Dr. isnt my best subject. Guess its trial & error until I see new colors out. Just comparing notes & thinking out loud. Best of luck fishing all. WHITE TIP

I will second what others have said TD 11 or Reef Runner’s in Perch or Firetiger patterns area a good start. Later in the summer, purple and pink are good options. The purple X-shad behind some leadcore is a personal favorite.
