Bald Eagle Lake is listed as “Impaired” by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. The impairment has been caused by excessive amounts of nutrients (phosphorus) in the water. These nutrients have lead to increased algae growth and decreased water clarity. A Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) study has begun to address the excess nutrient levels. This meeting will provide an overview of the TMDL process, the current conditions on the lake, and the Bald Eagle TMDL project.
