    Your bobber is too big.

    That jig will never work.

You gotta put one of these on.(He hasn’t caught a thing all week-end)

Your hat is Mossy-oak-didnt you realize your socks were gray-ghost pattern. You loser.

Will you check the gps cordinates on the back strap of the four-wheeler? it doesnt look straight.

Your bobber is too big.(he hasn’t caught anything all week-end.)

Just because every fish-house on the lake is in a 20 ft.x 20ft. area doesn’t mean anything-lets go fish that dead area over there.(aw-all right)

You’ll never get a flag because your tip-up isnt monogrammed.

You know a guy like this?

The outdoors is for fun no matter.

Keep the post going w/tales of people who take it too far.

    Hey Scott!
You ask the question will I still like you if your bobber is to big? Depends. If we are dragging ringworms, probably not. If we are soaking suckers no problem.

    Drewsdad,
    That gave me a chuckle.
    Thanks.
My point in the post was that a guy should be able to use a gallon milk jug for a bobber and it it shouldnt effect the other guys outing.
    Thanks again.

This sounds like me talking to my father-in-law. Maybe I need to chill out. Or just be willing to accept it when my someday son-in-law dishes it out to me.

Yeah, I’m related to one of those.

Everything I mention that I’m doing, he says I’m wrong. I get the “I’ve been doing this all my life” story followed by the “I don’t mean to tell you what to do, but…..”.

I swear everything I ever say he just says the opposite.

Yep, I do know that guy but I know his cousin better.

    – You’re following too close (5 or 6 car links behind).
    – Better watch your speed (okay, I’m going 61 in a 55).
    – Should be in that lane (our exit is 15 miles yet).
    – Turn your high beams on (you don’t need to see, I DO).
    – I’d have my wipers on (there’s 20 rain drops on the windshield).

Years back I was on a fly in fishing trip. We had 10 guys in which I new 4. We paired up with different guys each day, and on day 2 my buddy told me not to tell this guy how to fish, what to use… I said cool I’m just looking out for #1. I said well buddy how do you want to fish today?? He replied whatever is fine Chris. I said well lets start by trolling a bit, and we’ll watch the graph for fish and cool looking spots. As I made lap number 3 around some structure and landed my second nice walleye my front runner still hadn’t soaked a bait (Still riggin up!!). Then at once I notice him cast out a giant pike bobber off to the side as we’re trolling. Remembering what my buddy told me earlier I just bit my lip. Within seconds of course the big bobber was dragging behind the boat as my frontrunner lit up a cigar. After about 2 hours and 7 more walleyes for yours truly I asked if he might want to try something different. He agreed and reeled in. Then I could see that he had a jig and twister under the Big bobbber. He proceeded to take off the twister tail and replace it with a different color!! NICE!! In all fairness I had a great day nonetheless, and had a personal net guy for the day. Right before lunch I couldn’t stand it anymore, so trolled right past our basecamp where some of the guys were fishing off the dock. I thought they were going to fall off the dock when they saw what “BOB” was trolling with!! Still I think he had a great day on the water!!

I should probably just stay out of this conversation, but the only time I ever say anything is if I happen to be catching fish, and I will try to do it in a polite and subtle manner. If we aren’t hitting them, I don’t say a word-you could have a marlin lure on and I don’t care, but there have been times where I have taken people out-absolutely pounded fish myself-partner refuses to switch-and then after the the day partner says we should have got a “guide.” It’s never fun when just one person gets on them.

It only takes 2 fish to get me to switch, no questions, and a “nice job” is on the way to whomever figured it out!

This might be a completely differnt topic, but in some ways I’m sure some of you have experienced this. My other favorite is when someone holds a spinning reel upside down and reels backwards.

I saw a guy and his kid at Dick’s a few years back. The guy was holding the rod upside down and explaining to the kid that something must be wrong with the reel because it reeled backwards. I couldn’t bring myself to correct him

On a trip to Lake Michigan last March, there were three of us in my boat, and my buddy on the bow, and myself in the rear were just hammering brown trout and steelhead left and right. My buddy in the middle, who claims to be this big time fisherman, wasn’t catching a thing, literally, nothing. My buddy and I can’t get our jigs to the bottom before getting bit. We are using jigheads with GULP minnows.

So i mention to my buddy he should think about switching to what i’m using since it’s obviously working. He agrees (which surprised me) and switches over. Another about 15min go by and i’ve boated at least 5-6 more nice trout and my buddy in the middle has yet to bring one in which i cannot understand since he has basically the exact set-up i have.

Well a little later i see him reel up to check his jig only to see he has about 4-5 GULP’s smashed onto his jighead!

I ask him what that is all about, and his response is “I figured it would look like a school of baitfish!”

In the two days we spent in Milwaukee Bay, my buddy failed to catch one fish, not even one. But you know what, i wouldn’t go on another trip without him!
