I am looking for a little help in this area. I am unfamilair with any lakes or the river there and was hoping some one could help me out. I am going to be up sun/mon to take my cousin out fishing. He is a disabled veteran and we need to be able to drive pretty close to our fishing area. If any one could refer me to a lake or portion of the river I would greatly appreciate it. Minn/Wisc side does not matter.
Open water or ice? Pool 4 is the only place I know of for open water. I fished yesterday out of Everts in Hager City (about 20 min south of Prescott)and the boat ramps are open and in great shape. The bite is a little slow but there is still plenty of fish to be caught. Good Luck 
And for Summer fishing, there are piers on both the MN and WI side of the St. Croix in Prescott. 
And both are darned good shore fishing spots at times! Many times in the Spring and Fall the shorefishermen outfish the boaters!
Lake Rebecca in Hastings also has a pier and access to panfish.
