    are you fishing a river?

I have had that same problem. I bought a product I think is made by Marcum, but some have made their own. All it is is a round piece of plastic with a slit to hold your camera wire to keep it from spinning. When you go to adjust the cameras’ direction you just ease the disc around to where yo want it. I just know that someone here will have a picture of the item.

This is what you’re thinking about. Marcum Camera Compass

I picked one up for the camera I have. They are quite handy and easy to use.

Go grab yourself a MarCum camera “frisbee”. I used one this weekend with an 825C to keep it fixed in one position. The only thing that made the camera move (ever so slightly) was turbulence from fish tails. Here’s a pic.

We got a TON of cool stuff on film. Bass, pike, walleyes, tulibees, gills, baitfish….you name it. A bunch of bites and fish getting caught. Mostly on tip-ups but a few on jigs as well. James has all the footage…he’ll be posting some of the highlights.

I use a mo-pod. Makes using the camera much more enjoyable. No leaning over and spinning the cable by hand, the ability to pan around and look at other lines, follow fish, etc.

Kory, Dean at Everts can ship you one if you can’t find the Camera Compass locally.

Any place that handles Marcum should have them.

I know with many of the above water camera cable motors, the wind will catch the cable and turn it. If you’re always in a fish house…not a big deal.

    No drain on batteries either.
