patching holes in garage floor

OK, my garage floor has some holes in it. I mean, some real big pockets! There’s a big area next to the door that has concrete gone all the way to the dirt, and plenty of little holes all throughout the place. This is an old garage with old concrete.

I was talking to a guy last night who said he used a mixture that was powder, then you added some latex or something like that to it, can’t remember exactly what he said. Said it’s like plaster almost, and he’s had real good luck with it though.

So, what do you guys recommend? I’d like to just make it smoother around the place so it’d be easier to roll stuff around, and so snow won’t blow in under the door where the big hole is.
It sounds like maybe that mixture might work, but I’ve also looked at some other ptaches as well, like that tar stuff.

Looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say.

There are a few ways to patch up the holes.
The first would be to get some sack crete for bigger areas. This stuff is easy to mix since it comes ready and all you have to do is add water.

The other way, the way you talked about is an epoxy patch. It comes in powder form and you add water as well. The epoxy patch can be a little tougher to deal with since it sets pretty fast and is pretty pasty. Meaning it doesn’t spread as well.

Look for ARDEX products at construction supply stores.
they have a full line of products from patch to resurfacing,
I did my neighbors garage 3 years ago with ARDEX CD Fine and it still looks like the day I did it
it was full of pop outs and cracks and she wanted it looking nice for a party, so I suggested the ARDEX CD and said it may only last a few years because her floor didn’t have 2 square feet of solid concrete but it still looks great

Try hydraulic cement. Usually found at your construstion supply stores. Easy to mix up just like cement but is extremely hard when dry.

Give my FW a call. Here cookie dough sets up harder than steel.
