How does a person know if the gas they are using has ethanol in it if it doesn’t say at the pump? Most places don’t’ seem to have it marked on the pump. I’ve heard Amoco silver has no ethanol. Is that true??

    Dirk,

The gas that is non-oxygenated (No Alcohol ) is usually premium. The pump will have a sticker that says you can only use the gas in RV, Boats, Yard Equip, etc. Hard to find in the 7 county metro. Pretty common up north, like around Mille Lacs.

The M&H in Hastings has one pump that is pure gas. It’s in the row of pumps closest to the car wash and clearly marked.

Yup, thats the pump I use in Hastings. So non-oxygenated gas is what I should use in my opti that calls for no ethonal whenever possible?? How about pumps in the Red wing area?? Thanks.

Yes, non-oxygenated = no ethonal. The stickers I have seen use the non-oxygenated wording.

The Citgo station on Main St. (across from Hardees) in Red Wing has Premium non ethanol gas. I always use premium gas anyway as it is better for cleaning carbon buildup on your piston rings.
