    If you could plan your calendar for the year, based on fishing in Minnesota, where would you go each month? Here is mine:

    January- Red Lake Walleyes
    February- Backus area lakes Bluegills
    March- Brainerd area Late ice Crappies
    April- Rainy River Walleyes
    May- Anywhere in MN walleyes and crappies
    June- Mille Lacs Walleyes
    July- Alexandria Area Largemouth Bass
    August- Mississippi River Smallies
    September- Gull Lake Walleyes
    October- Mille Lacs full moon walleyes
    November- Hunting season for me
    December- Minnewaska/Gull Lake/Mille Lacs first ice walleyes

    Where would you go?

    My list is similar to Trumar’s except May through September would read:

    Pool 3/Pool 4 and all the fish would be walleye

    Can’t forget those Summertime wingdam walleyes

    Jan-Panfish and pike
    Feb-Cisco
    March-Buffalo,carp,Redhorse
    April-Redhorse
    May-Exploration and Trout, carp, Redhorse
    June-Channels and flats
    July-Night cats, Gar
    August-Cats, gar, carp
    September-Trial and error fishing
    October-Sturgeon Greater Redhorse, Buffalo, Carp, Muskie, Pike
    November- Whatever I can chase
    December- Panfish, Pike

    Jan, Feb, March – Mille Lacs and LOW
    April – Big Stone (And Francis Case, don’t get there much anymore)
    May, June, July, Aug, Sept, Oct, Dec – Mille Lacs, LOW and Winnie (in that order)

    November is for hunting.

    I like big water.
