    In your scenario, player two gets 2 for 15, player 1 gets 5 for 20, player 2 gets 6 for 27, player 1 gets 6 for 29 & player 2 gets 8 for 30. Hows that ???

    Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!…

    16 pts for player 2 and 11 pts for player 1.

    Hold the Chicken Dinner Chef! Are we counting hand pts too?

    P1 scored 11 peg pts & 4 hand pts for a total of 15 pts…less a possible suite flush.
    P2 scored 16 peg pts & 2 hand pts for a total of 18 pts….less the flush possibility.

    Sequence of play (2, 4, 6, 3, 5, 7, 2, 1).

    P1 scored all his peg pts on two runs of 5 & 6 cards. 5 pts when the 5/20 was played & 6 pts when the 2/29 was played. P1 also had 4 hand pts. All four cards tallied equal 15 which of course is worth 2 pts in addition to the pair of dueces for 2 pts.

    P2 scored 2 pts for hitting 15 when the 3/15 was played, 6 pts for a run of 6 cards when the 7/27 was played, 7 pts for a run of 7 cards when the deuce/30 was played, and 1 pt for last card played. P2 also had 2 hand pts as all four tallied equal 15.

    His scenario was pegging runs…. no way to know the hand totals without knowing the card that was up.. BTW I like dark meat….

    Big G…you are a MACHINE today!!!! But you are right on!! And yes, PierBridge was implying pegging only…due to your reason explained above!!!!

    Ted

    ps…do I get Barebackjacks point that he missed? And secondly, did he lose that game as a result of it?

    Here’s a new one Big G is not eligible this time!

    P.1… 4-6-3-1 .. P.2….. 5-7-1-1.

    P. 2 is the dealer and the cut card is a Jack of Diamonds.

    P.1 has all diamonds in his hand.

    Each player has thrown a pair of kings in the Crib.

    What are the combined point totals scored by both players in the hand?

    P2 gets 2 for heels for j cut. P1 gets 5 for run of 3 and fifteen. P2 gets 4 for run of 4. P1 gets 5 for run of 5. P1 gets 2 for pair. P2 gets 7 for 3rd ace and go. pegging total
    P1 – 12
    P2 – 13

    Counting…

    P1 – 5 for flush. 2 for fifteen two.
    total – 7

    P2 – fifteen two, pair is four
    total – 4

    P2 blind – 12

    Total…..

    P1 = 19

    P2 = 29

    Only problem with this Pierbridge…P1 would not have thrown the kings in the crib!!

    Aren’t you going to toughen these up a little…lol

    Actually Ted depending on position of the game there are a couple scenario’s where player 1 may have thrown the Kings in the crib.

    First go around, I was thinking 2 of diamonds was cut… let’s try again:

    P1: 12 pegging + 2 hand = 14

    P2: 2 for the J + 11 pegging + 7 hand + 12 crib = 32

    14 + 32 = 46 total points combined

    Now you are just getting tricky with the wording…add up the two and you get………………………………..

    48…..

    And yes on the kings…maybe a few times, but not the majority!!!! Come on now…

    My mistake, counted one to many 15’s. Correct total is 48. Player 1 with 19 and P2 with 29. P2 was not too smart to play a 5 on P1’s 4 not knowing what other cards P1 had, but I like holding the aces to the end.

    29 points…best cribbage hand possible.

    When I was in college a few of us played cribbage a fair amount, I had the 28 hand 4 times in like 3 weeks. Never saw it before then and haven’t seen it since.

    Cribbage tournament sounds like a stellar idea.

    Grew up playing the game against my dad….He flopped a 29 on me one night. Memory serves me correctly, he pegged nearly every card played too! He was always quick to remind me of “the hand” when I got a little cocky with him as the months turned to years in later games…..Been a lotta hands played before/after and I haven’t witnessed another yet. Quit playing the game for the most part in 05′ when he passed.

    I’ve played quite a bit of cribbage too and have never had a 29 hand. I had a couple 28 hands in the past. On one of those occassions, I also had a 24 in my crib.

    PS. I can still smell the double skunk from that game.

    I too have had several 28 hands, but never a 29. Here are the odds for being dealt either against a single opponent:

    29 = 1 in 216,580.
    28 = 1 in 15,028.
