What’s everyone think about the game? I have a sneaking suspicion that the Vikings may get blown out. I hope I’m wrong but I have absolutely zero confidence in Childress. If we lose it’s time for Childress to take the high road like Denny Green did and get the heck out of town.

If it were AT Philly, I think it would be a hands down wash in Philly’s favor. Since it’s in MN, I think the Vikes have a real chance to win it, actually. In fact, I’m playing the Streak for the Cash on espn.com and…I’m pickin…. the Vikes. Homefield with that D? They have a real chance.
January 4, 2009 at 4:34 am #733751I agree the Vikings will win. Home field is a huge advantage. Adrian will have a big game and the MN D will keep control on Philly. If Jackson keeps his cool and doesn’t make any mistakes they should have it.
With all this being said don’t be surprised if it still comes down to a field goal.

Vikings are 6-2 at home, and the Dome is a huge home field advantage.
If our D can keep McNabb contained and not give him room to roll out or scrabble, we have a good chance to win. Peterson will need a big day also, which might not be that tough with all the blitzing the Eagles will be doing. Once he clears the line, he should have plenty of room to run.
In the end, Vikings win a close one by 3-4 points.
January 4, 2009 at 7:36 am #733770I hope I’m wrong, but I think they are going to get destroyed, the eagles are coming from a big win, they totally dominated the Cowgirls, and if their ability to cause turnovers is half as it was against Dallas… I’m not sure TJ needs any help turning over the ball…..
January 4, 2009 at 2:39 pm #733798Vikings game plan should be to put a body on Westbrook at all times…. take him away and take the game away from Philly. 28-20 Vikes

Just talked with Big E on the phone, if the vikes start to lose, he has to step up cheering efforts and get them back on track!!

January 4, 2009 at 9:26 pm #733909To quote Mike Tice former Viking coach. “I think if we go out and score more points than they do there is a good chance we’ll win.”
Seriously I am not a Vikes fan but will be pulling for them today. I feel that if AP is able to break through the first phase of the vaunted Philly run blitz the only thing he’ll see after that is the end zone. I wouldn’t be totally surprised to see him gather 200 plus on the ground today if the O line can give him a bit of a hand.
That said the cards are stacked against the Vikes. I think the biggest advantage Philly will have is play off experience and a head coach who has yet to lose in the first round of the play offs. Of course keeping Westbrook under control proves to be impossible for many teams so that is obviously a key as well.
They are about to start so better grab a cold one!
justinwitmerPosts: 124January 4, 2009 at 11:19 pm #733935They trail 16-14 now….I think they still have a good chance to win!
January 5, 2009 at 12:26 am #733958Well Westbrook just got a long TD off a dang screen. With just 6 minutes left and trailing by 9 I’d say the dagger has been placed. I can’t say I have ever been disappointed by a Viking loss before. I can’t say I liked the play call for the offense. Why try and pass with TJ when CT and AP are behind the line? What a two headed monster they would be if used a little better.
igotonePosts: 1746January 5, 2009 at 2:03 am #733996I think the Vikings have the worst coaches in the NFL. We needed to call two timeouts on defense because they either didn’t get the play call in or our linebacker Leber couldn’t hear it. And early in the game Jackson had to rush a play off when everyone wasn’t ready because the play didn’t come in from the coaches early enough. As Jackson walked off the field you could read his lips and he said get the F’n play call in earlier.
I also didn’t like our play calling on offense. Early in the 3rd quarter there was a 3rd and 1 and we called some slow developing counter instead of a quick hitter right up the middle.
I think the Vikings need a new coach and a new QB. I would make a strong push for Bill Cowher or Mike Shanahan.
January 5, 2009 at 3:26 am #734029I was at the game.. but my friend asked me my prediction before the game and I was dead on… Tjack would put the game in the eagles hands then have to turn around and win it on his own.. and he just cant do it… not now.. and really I doubt he ever can….
on top of that coaching… comeon… chilly probably called Reid for pointers before the game… whose offense do we most resemble? its like playing mirror images… except at QB where the image gets horribly distorted…. on top of that.. special teams need to do better on kick coverage… nuff said…
