HOF in Rochester normally gets some of that each year. I don’t think it’s very popular but he gets it for the customers who swear by it. That is Hooked On Fishing in Rochester…phone 507-282-4982

It is a thin piece of Seal skin in a roll which comes in a tin.

I have used it but never had much luck with it while I have heard of others that swear by it.

Thanks Bret. This now leads to a second question. What do you do with it?

You cut it into pieces and use it to tip your jigs. It is a white color and oily. It is tough skinned and last forever on a hook.

    They just use the skins

I do not believe the product is PETA approved

Not PETA approved? Guess this means you are not eating it.

Only the few traces that might be left on my fingers while eating beer sticks out on the ice

I know I can pick it up at my local bait shop. Let me know if you are having problems finding and I can ask him who he is buying it from.

Yep, I use it and really like it. You cut little thin strips off and put it on the hook. The action of the strip can be deadly on panfish and also lets out a scent that seems to stay in the area.

Now that I think of it, I need a new can

I thought it was made from shark cartilage????

In any case, I have had very good luck with it. I know Ike’s bait in Red Wing sells it.

Scheels in Eau Claire carries chena bait every ice fishing season. Some people really like it and wouldn’t go fishing without it. It’s hard to find for late ice fishing season so get it now if you want to try it.
