I am thinking about getting one in my truck, would like to know if anyone has any bad opinions of them. Have compared Rhino and Line-X, I think Line-X may actually be stonger, but I don’t like the surface of it, the Rhino seems a bit softer, less rough, and alot more grippy, which I like.

    Thanks for any opinions.

Well my buddy has the line x junk! We have two of them at work and they get abused they are about 4 years old holding up very well. Mt brother has one of those carpet liners and he works construction “builds houses” he seams to like it. I do know the more time you spend preping the box the better the stuff sticks. I helped do one of those fleet farm kits didnt think much of it waste of money. Thats what i seen. good luck

First off I will say I havent had any personal experience with the Line X brand, just opinions I have heard. With that said I have had a rino lining on my truck for 9 years now. There is a few small pieces that are missing (about the size of a quater) mostly right were the bed ends before the tailgate. I have thrown pretty much everything in there at one time or another, and it has held up great. Also I work construction so I am using the back of my truck daily, 3 to 4 times a day mostly. I will say that you will be farther ahead to have somebody do it professionaly for you. Spraying it on will give you a much better coating and it will hold up longer. Also they know exactly how to prep the truck to get it to stick best. Also they would cover the warrenty work if there happend to be any issues.

So all in all, I would go with the rino lining installed by a shop.

I have Rhino with just a year on it. So far so good. It is nice and “grippy”.

We had Rhino sprayed in our 02, it was ok. When we bought the 05, we passed and bought the rubber mat instead. I figured all we were doing was buying the bedliner for the next owner seeing how we upgrade every few years. If your going to keep your truck for many, many years or in the construction trades it’s probably worth it. We use our truck, I honestly don’t see any difference between the mat and liner except for scratches on the wheel wells and gate, no biggie, it’s a truck.

Good point on that, I have also seen it sprayed on the bottom of the quarter panels and below the doors. You can get a matched color to your vechicle and you can hardly notice its there. The two worsts spots for rust on a truck are the wheel wells and the bottoms of the quarter panels so spraying them would deffinately help

I see alot of spray in bed liners at work, from people who “use” their trucks. I have noticed the Rhino lining seems to chip off, in rather large pieces, I can’t say that about a Line X bed, they more wear out, from loading/unloading stuff. Like somebody said, “prep” is the main ingredient with any liner, I know the Line X in St Cloud does a good job, We have a bunch done on new trucks, for a company that does digging all over MN and Iowa and after 4-5 years of some real beatings, the Line X is still holding up. If I had to buy a spray in liner, it would be a Line X from my experience. Good luck
