Ok guys I need a little help. I have lost my keys to my 99 Chrysler LHS. I have been without them for a week now, but I need to get home for Christmas break. My problem is that I don’t have a spare set and this particular key has a chip in it that makes it kind of unique. I have to take my car to the dealer for them to be able to program a new key for it. There is no Chrysler dealer in town and it is going to cost atleast $150 to have a a locksmith come in and do it. Has anyone dealt with a situation like this and what did you do?

Contact Big G via PM. He’s left wing Chrysler/Dodge guy. I’m sure he has some sound advice for you. It may be what you’ve already been told, but at least you’ll know it’s truthful.

Unfortunately, without the transponder key, there is little you can do. The key runs around $55 and about $24 to program. On top of that, you would need to tow it to the nearest dealer, so $150 probably is the route you will have to take. Is there a spare anywhere, have the folks overnight if possible. Good luck
