I don’t have one but I was looking at the ice conversion kit for mine. Is it worth spending the $150 or should I spend another $200 above that to buy a Vexlar? I wonder how they compare?
There are pros and cons, a lot depends on your style of ice fishing. I have my 332 (basically the same unit) setup to run off 12v power from my wheeler in winter, I can use the gps and lake maps and drop an ice ducer down the hole and fish. Truth be told, I already had the 332 and a lx3, so I find myself using the gps on the 332 and the LX3 for fishing, I find the lowrance to be a bit of a pain in the [censored] to ice fish with, especially if you have other flashers around you. The flasher mode as far as I’m concerned it worthless, but in graph mode it works pretty good, ( turn the graph speed to 100% and the ping to 100%. ) I spend about $120 to make my unit ice ready on the wheeler, between the ducer, power cord and 12v plug. I’d use it in a pinch, but really I love use the 332 for the gps, punch my hole and fish with my LX3.
So it’s doable but really I think it’s best to invest the money in a real flasher, even a cheap flasher, I’d still go with that over the lowrance, if you shop real good, I’ll bet you can find a good flasher in the $250 range, new or used.
