Here is Hastings…nada…zip…zilch! The cooling air dried everything a lot up too. Driving here is not bad at all…But I did watch the thermometer go from 36 to 15 in an hour.

Kooty, Ya I bet we got 5 inches of snow today just 3 miles north of Becker. I just talked to another guy that lives out on Ida and he said they didn’t get any snow there either? This is not going to be good for the ice on the lakes. I was up at Brainerd yesterday and they are driving on Crow Wing lake so of Brainerd. Not sure how much snow they got?

I’m getting ready to get some salt on the driveway before at that water starts freezing.

    Dean? How’s the ramps?

    Good to go!

Off & on light drizzle here, awesome morning fishing wise!
    Tommorrow…..not so much.

You ready for a couple days off, Dean? I would think these cold temps should keep the boaters away for a couple days at least.

Last boat just off the water.Estimating 20 mph -30mph gusts,10 degrees. Not much for precip though. No fun spudding that ice off the ramps, but looks like I can sleep in tommorrow!Heck the fish deserve a break too!

Seems like stuff always breaks here when it is miserable weather. Is it still BK”s fault if he isnt here when it does break?

Typically after an extended stretch of cold weather the fish bite like heck for a few days once a guy can get back on the water… so you have that to look forward to.

I couldn’t even point to Huskerland on a map!

All I know is that BK told me it was the doormat for Iowa.

All I know if is this wind keeps up, it might blow Huskerland TO Iowa*!

Well, that’ll make it closer for ya up to Evert’s . From here on out for a couple months, it’ll be the ruff and tuff bunch fishin up there.. think I’ll throw in a couple of my 15 foot tow straps in case I can’t get up the ramp, that way Dean can help give me a little tug. It’ll all be worth it…

Forgot to mention, it is already below zero here just North of Rochester…and wind howling through the woods.

I just looked at the extended forecast for Red Wing. Looks like the fish are gonna get a big break.

My deck is popping now that the temp has dropped to single digits. It sounds like gun shots!

Tell me about it, I was deer hunting this morning and it was a pleasant sit in the stand weather wise. Went back out at 3pm and what a change froze my off and to make matters worse did not see any deer today.

I was fishing this morning the wind was blowing out of the south HARD but the temps were in the mid 60s in a matter of two or three minutes the wind turned to the north and the temperature dropped to the 30s. Low for tonight +1 and the following high temps for the week Mon/+12 Tues/+19 Wed/+16 Thur/+30 Fri/+31 Sat/+25 Sun/+12 maybe we’ll have ice by January

I just got home from work tonight. If anyone has to work in the morning, get the car started early…the doors maybe froze shut from the rain. (At least here in the Cities).

I barely got into mine, and we have another car that my wife couldn’t get the doors open at all.

-7 this morning in the Lakeland MN area. Looks like about 2″ of snow, but it’s hard to tell with the wind.

It was so cold this morning…the boys didn’t want to go outside…I think they were wishing we had a cat box for them.

Apparently a lot of people trip on the door mat, fall and hit their head on their way to Iowa.

I spent the day hunting yesterday in this nasty weather. When I looked yesterday morning it was 2 degrees colder here than it was at my in-laws near Brainerd. We had 40 MPH wind gust all day. We did several deer drives and only sat for the last hour of the day. I’m sure the deer wern’t happy with us chasing them out of their warm beds.

That sounds like a good idea Dean! But if you really can’t leave town you could always head to that little place just down the road that’s kind of like going to a nude beach. You might be able to get an umbrella drink there. And I’m sure you could find out where the best tanning booth deals around Hager City are too….. Just a thought.

Enjoy the break Dean. You’ll be looking back at this longingly come April.
