as much as it pains me to say this the Pack is done, dead, no shot at all. Our brilliant GM and wunderkind coach has really blew it this year. It started with Favre and continued through cutting a punter that is now ranked 9th in the league for a guy who before he got cut yesterday was ranked 26th! They will be lucky to finish 7-9.
December 3, 2008 at 9:24 pm #725875Well, seems I’ve ruffled some feathers
Jack has a problem with how I’m not treating the Vikings fairly. Says I always run them down and in fact am not a TRUE fan. I’ll answer this once, and I’ll never make another Vikings post so you all can sleep at night. From the day Childress was hired I have said he was not qualified to be a head coach. I cited the fact he was a coordinator with the Eagles and had very little to nothing to do with play calling. Nobody ever argued that point.
Second I said Bevell wasn’t qualified to be a coordinator. He was a quarterback for Childress at Wisconsin when they went to the Rose bowl with Ron Dayne running the ball. How that qualifies you to be an NFL offensive coordinator I don’t know. Anyway nobody argued that point either.
Third- I questioned the hiring of Spielman from Miami to work on the draft end of things and pro personnel. I said this is the same guy who put the Miami team together before Parcels got there. Again, no arguments.
My banging on the Vikings is pure and simple, act like a organization that has some clue how to win and you will get treated like one. These are the same guys who all hitched their wagons to a D-2 level quarterback. These are the guys who spent a first round pick on a wide receiver (Williamson) who wasn’t rated above a third round choice on anybodies draft board. These are the guys who got so “holier then tho” about the love boat. They continue to tell us what a great offensive tackle McKinney is. Who by the way will be the next Viking going on probation. These are the same guys who told us how great the team will be with Berrian as the featured receiver. I believe he has 35 catches. These are the same guys who can’t figure out how to get Peterson and Taylor in the same backfield when we don’t have three top wide receivers.
So Jack, there ya have it. You are correct. I’m NOT a fanatic who will take their BS lying down. I say fanatic because fan is short for fanatic. You are a fanatic, I am a fan. I truly like to see the Vikings do well, however they are not better today then when Childress took over with the exception of Peterson IMHO.
Maybe with the Williams they win the division most likely with an 9-7 record. Without them who knows.
His other point is I’m all over the Internet ripping the Vikings. You are correct Jack if the Internet is limited to IDO & WC.
Finally I’ll say this, Cougareyes and myself disagree on the Twins players often. But what he or I can never deny is we both are Twins fans, we just see players & people differently. Some here can only see the color purple.
If Jack isn’t a strong enough Vikings fanatic you can just tune to Sid Hartman on WCCO.
o.k. i’M done now.
Below is Jacks post for those who missed it………

My problem with your “opinion” is that in all the time you have been on this site you have never said one positive thing about the team you claim you are a fan of.
You have an agenda that I’m sick and tired of seeing you try to sell to the world.
The suspensions are not a coaching issue, but you are trying to twist it around to support your opinion that we need to replace the entire front office and coaching staff.
This teaam is in the playoff hunt, and every true Vikings fan is hoping for the best outcome from this. Don’t profess yourself a fan of the team when all you do is search the entire internet looking for every chance you can find to slam that same team you claim to be a fan of.
December 3, 2008 at 10:12 pm #725898That was an eye burning post!
I guess I would disagree about getting both Peterson and Taylor in the back Field at the same time. That obviously would make it much tougher to both and the ball.
December 3, 2008 at 11:16 pm #725911Also, dont forget that teams can now triple team Allen and shut him down.
As an optimist, IF the Vikes can make the playoffs, the Williams boys will be rested and PISSED OFF. See you in the Superbowl.

The Wall will play this week….so says the Judge!
“May” not “Will.”
December 4, 2008 at 12:30 pm #726002The wall needs to sit out and not fight this thing. They’re going to lose eventually and find themselves either out for the playoffs or out for next year. We can find a way to win 2 games (Detroit, NYGiants) plus a chance with Atlanta being a home game.
The Vikes have already made plans to be without them and of all the possible games to be suspended for, why not sit one out with the Lions?

December 4, 2008 at 2:36 pm #726033I have yet to verify this, but heard this from a coworker:
Regular season game = $250k per
Playoff game = $25k perIf I was going to lose that much cash, I’d probably fight it too. Again, I have no idea if this is factual.
December 4, 2008 at 3:39 pm #726060If that’s true then the Vikes should suspend them for “conduct detrimental to the team”.
I guess I couldn’t blame them if this is true but too bad the system is set up this way so the players feel the need to put their needs before the teams.

(16 regualar season games), then playoff games are at seperate league structured payments and bonus/incentive moneys agreed upon in their contracts.
December 12, 2008 at 2:06 am #728014Can’t believe nobody brought this to the top. ESPN reported tonight the judge acquitted all 5 members involved in this thingy. The NFL can appeal yet, so it may not be over yet.

They haven’t been aquitted. The judge just delayed things so the players will be able to play the year out.
December 12, 2008 at 12:56 pm #728069Weird, that’s not what they reported at 4PM. I haven’t watched anything since. The guys I was listening to must have misinterpreted what the judge’s ruling was.
