As I was sitting on the couch the other day I hear the wife say with an elevated tone ” get up really slow and look out the window.” I’ve seen a lot of different birds on our deck but was amazed to find a mature red-tailed hawk 15 feet away. As I looked closer I noticed he had a mouse in his talons and decided I needed to get a few pictures. As the kids stood in the patio door making all kinds of noise he just devoured the mouse and off he went. It is really remarkable how animals adapt to the city pushing out to their environment.
